World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship

The World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship is one of the year's most exciting events, pitting the world's top 64 players from the Official World Golf Ranking in head-to-head match-play competition. To win this elite-level campetition, a player has to win six matches, including Sunday's Chanmpionship Match.

This unique match-play format will be contested on the beautiful South Course at the Gallery Golf Club at Dove Mountain, February 19 through 25, 2007.

Golf Super-Stars in Tucson

The World Golf Championships – Accenture Match Play Championship is one of four World Golf Championships e vents which debuted in 1999. Eligibility for the Accenture Match Play Championship is limited to the top 64 available players from the Official World Golf Ranking. The format for the event is single-elimination match play. Players are seeded 1 through 64 based on their Official World Golf Ranking with the No. 1 seed playing the No. 64 seed, the No. 2 seed playing the No. 63 seed, etc. Past champions include Geoff Ogilvy, Jeff Maggert, Darren Clarke, Steve Stricker, Kevin Sutherland, Tiger Woods, and David Toms.

This is an amazing opportunity for Tucson to see many of today's golf greats like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Vijay Singh and to witness the making of golf history right in our back yard. We certainly hope to see you there.
